Clouds Burst When I See You Smile
Clouds Burst is an art and science led, audio visual research and development project exploring sound as a tool for mark-making, supported by Norfolk & Norwich Festival’s Bursary for Artists programme 2026. It is taking place between January - July 2026.
Building on an existing tactile to digital process kit with the aim of increasing inclusivity in social engagement activities, Clouds Burst When I see You Smile offers unique and playful learning experiences for participants whilst supporting greater awareness and connectivity. Alongside the development of kit structure and facilitation process, Clouds Burst will curate a short immersive AV piece which will be exhibited in partnership with Noise of Art.
Norfolk & Norwich Festival’s Bursaries for Artists is a development initiative for socially engaged artists in East Anglia. Bursaries for Artists support recipients to further their community and socially engaged practice. The programme enables artists to develop and deliver projects around the region to enrich the creative journeys of young people.
Originally founded in 1772 for the local hospital, Norfolk & Norwich Festival is one of the UK’s oldest and largest multi-arts festivals country’s longest running arts festivals and offers a region-wide programme of creative engagement that particularly focuses on improving the cultural offer for children and young people.
Thank you to all involved in making this project a possibility.
